Anarchist Bookfair (Nov 10 - Franny)

Franny talks with Meagan, one of the organizers for this year's Anarchist Bookfair, happening this Friday night and all day Saturday at the Grace Westminster Church in Saskatoon. You can learn more on their facebook page here.

Oct 20th: Civic Election

On today's show, we heard an interview by Amber with Katie, a nurse with the Sexual Health Centre of Saskatoon about their upcoming film screening of 'I Had an Abortion.' The film screening and discussion will be on Oct 29th at 6pm at the downtown, Frances Morison Library. We also heard an interview by Franny with mayoral candidate Lenore Swynstun. Lenore is running against 4 men in this upcoming civic election. Voting takes place for all civic positions on October 28th. Finally, we heard about a number of other upcoming community events happening in Saskatoon.

Midwifery (Jun 9 - Franny)

They talk about SK's efforts to increase midwifery in the province, and in particular here in Saskatoon, as well as what the demand for midwifery is like here. Reproductive Action Group (May 5 - Live)

Franny and Brenda interview two students from the Reproductive Action Group (RAG), a group of UofS medical students committed to raising awareness about women's reproductive health and issues, and advocating for more core curriculum content on those issues.

RAG is hosting a fundraising gala this Friday to raise $$ for students attending the April Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) conference and for future projects. The event will include a talk by U of R professor and long-time pro-choice activist Alison Hayford, a Skyped-in yet-unpublished documentary screening on the Dutch group "Women on Waves" (www.womenonwaves.org), a silent auction, live music, great food, drinks, friends and conversation. Tickets are $50, $20 of which is a tax-receiptable donation.
